Troubleshooting

No sound is playing

A few things to check, in order:

  • The volume slider sits on the right edge of the player. Drag it up, and make sure the speaker icon below it is not muted.
  • Confirm a soundscape is selected in the Sounds tab. The selected card shows a checkmark.
  • If you are playing a custom mix, open it with Edit and check that at least one sound is above zero.
  • Check your system volume and output device, then close and reopen the popup and press play again.
The break timer does not appear on a tab

Tabs that were already open when you installed or updated AmbientFocus need one reload before the break timer can appear on them. Chrome also blocks extensions on some special pages, such as the Chrome Web Store and chrome:// pages, so the timer cannot appear there.

My custom mix will not save

Save needs two things: a name in the text field, and at least one sound with its volume above zero. Once both are set, the Save Mix button becomes active and the saved mix is also selected for playback.

My stats or streak look wrong
  • Today's sessions and focus time reset at midnight by design. All-time totals keep growing.
  • The streak counts consecutive days with at least one completed session. Missing a full day resets it.
  • Stats are stored with your Chrome profile. A different profile or a computer without Chrome sync shows its own numbers.
Where is my data stored?

In your browser, and nowhere else. Your stats, streaks, and preferences live in Chrome's extension storage. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers. Removing the extension removes its data.
